From Porto to Barcelona: Morish Portugal and Spain

Porto

Porto is the city that gave the port wine its name. Besides that, it is a beautiful city, with the Rio Douro flowing through the heart of the city. You should visit the stadium of Portos proud: FC Porto. The bridge Ponte Luis I is one of Portos trademarks and you should take a look there, too.

Salamanca

From Porto, you will drive towards Spain. Cross the border and visit Spain's golden city Salamanca. Salamanca has a lot of architectural and religious heritage, so fans of culture and history can eat their hearts out.

Cáceres

Next stop, Cáceres. On your way to Seville, you will sleep in Cáceres for one night.

Aracena

Aracena in Andalucia is the last stop before heading to Seville.

Seville

Seville has been the home of many civilizations during the past decades. Originally started as a Roman city, it was later the home of the Mores. All these influences come together in Seville, one of the hottest cities of Europe. Must sees are the Real Alcazar palace, the Cathedral (the burial site of Christopher Columbus) and Torre del Oro (tower of gold).

Córdoba

Córdoba is competing with Seville for the title of 'hottest city' year in, year out. Europe's first university was established in Córdoba. Nice things to do are strawling down the ancient streets and enjoying all different sights and views.

Málaga

Drive to the coast and visit Málaga, a nice city at the Mediterrean coast of Spain (costa del sol, coast of the sun).

Granada

On day 12, you'll arrive in Granada from Málaga by car. You will stay in Granada for 1 night. Must-see highlights in and around Granada are Cathedral and Royal Chapel (Capilla Real), Granada Cathedral, Mirador de San Nicolas, The Alhambra.

Murcia

On day 13, you'll arrive in Murcia from Granada by car. You will stay in Murcia for 1 night. Must-see highlights in and around Murcia are Cathedral de Santa Maria, Real Casino de Murcia.

Valencia

On day 14, you'll arrive in Valencia from Murcia by car. You will stay in Valencia for 2 nights. Must-see highlights in and around Valencia are Antiguo Cauce del Rio Turia, City of the Arts and Sciences, Estadio De Mestalla, Oceanografic, Plaza de Toros de Valencia.

Barcelona

What a place to end your Portugal and Spain trip: Barcelona. One of the most popular cities of Europe, and not without reason. Visit Camp Nou, the legendary stadium of FC Barcelona. Take your time in Park Guell before heading back home.
