Bali, from north to south in 2,5 weeks

Indonesia
Enjoying the best of Bali, starting in the quiet north and going to the busier south. A trip with loads of nature, culture and of course the beaches.
This trip includes the mayor cities and excursions such as Seminyak, Ubud and the Besakih temple. Besides that, you travel a little further to the more quiet, yet beautiful Tulamben, and of course to Gili!

    Tulamben

A beautiful and quiet place to start your trip. It is a good place to snorkel and dive in the clear ocean. From this place it's a short drive to the fast boat for Gili. With this fast boat you are at the island in 1 hour instead of 3,5 hours. The boat is called Pacha-Express.

    Gili Trawangan

The island has no cars. you can only move with bikes, horse-drawn carriage, or you can just walk. The beaches are white and the ocean is clear. That makes Gili a real bounty island. I recommend to rent a bike and to go to the west side of the island to see the sunset, with a nice cocktail on the side :). It only takes 15-30 minutes to get there (from the east side).

    Besakih

Besakih is the biggest temple on the island. You really cannot mis this on your holiday at Bali. The complex is big. I recommend to go with a local guide, who let you go to places you otherwise cannot visit. Also, don't forget your sarong (a long skirt).

    Ubud

Ubud is located at the centre of the island, and is a nice transition from the quiet north to the busier south. There are many nice (souvenir)shops in Ubud. Go see the monkeys to, and another tip is to take a biketour through the ricefields in the neighbourhood. The nice part about this tour is that you go uphill with a bus and you only have to bike downwards.
